The location

Five minutes from
the harbour.

We don't say "conveniently located." We say: the Marina is 1.9 km, the GECC is a 560 m walk, and the airport is fifteen minutes away. Here's the lot.

Around town

Eight places worth knowing about, measured from our front door at 74 Oaka Lane. Two of them you can walk to; the furthest is the airport at ten kilometres. Distances and times are approximate.

Goondoon St CBD

The city's café, pub and dining strip, and the practical answer to a kitchenette with no stovetop. Close enough that dinner doesn't need the car.

Touring shows, conferences and community events. The nearest thing to us on this list — if you're here for something at the GECC, you can leave the car parked.

Port Curtis Harbour

The working harbour the whole city is organised around — coal, alumina and LNG moving out past the islands. Not a tourist attraction, but it's the view and the reason most guests are here.

Waterfront parkland with a lookout over the harbour and the islands beyond it. The place locals take visitors at sunset, and it costs nothing.

Gladstone Airport

Regional flights and a steady stream of FIFO traffic. Fifteen minutes each way, which is why guests on an early departure like having their own door and no reception to check out through.

Getting here and getting out again

Parking is free, secure and on site, so the car stays put and everything on this list is reachable without moving it twice. Check-in is from 2 PM and check-out by 10 AM, but arrivals run at any hour on your own key code — useful on a late flight into Gladstone Airport. There is no lift at the property; ask when you book if stairs are a problem.

02

Eat & drink, mostly on foot

Goondoon Street — the CBD's café and pub strip — is a short walk from your door. Since the studios have a kitchenette but no stovetop, it's the easy answer for dinner.
